Happy New Year!
LOWER RED RIVER
The Lower Red is flowing about 40 cfs below the town of Questa. Fishing has been ok from late morning to late afternoon. The trails are open, watch out for snow and ice in places. Look for some BWOs in late morning and afternoon. In the pockets and edges look to use Elk Hair Caddis or small Stimis with Pheasant Tail nymphs or Copper Johns as droppers. In the deeper runs considering running double nymphs using a larger Copper John, Twenty Incher or stonefly nymph followed by a BWO emerger.
